Kataklysm is a Canadian death metal band. They call their musical style “northern hyperblast” after an advertisement in M.E.A.T. magazine describing another band, Fear Factory, as “hyperblast”. The term refers to the extremely fast blast beats that Kataklysm’s drummer, Max Duhamel, fuses into the music.1992. At the beginning of their career they were mostly known for being one of the fastest, most chaotic metal bands. However, their music changed after Sylvain Houde left the band, and bassist/backing vocalist Maurizio Iacono took over Houde’s vocal duties, and another full-time bassist was recruited.

Hellyeah is a rock band which formed in Dallas, Texas, United States in 2006. The band consists of Chad Grey (vocals), Greg Tribbett (guitar), Tom Maxwell (guitar), Bob Zilla (bass) and Vinnie Paul Abbott (drums). Grey and Tribbet are members of Mudvayne, Maxwell is a member of Nothingface, Zilla was a member of Damageplan and Abbott was a member of Pantera and Damageplan.

The Contortionistis a progressive deathcore band from Indianapolis
Bottom heavy open chords that resonate strong enough to shake the core of the earth. Skyrocketing bursts of oscillating guitar leads layer an ominous and dark undercurrent of rhythm. While hardcore punk may be the sound that rules the day in The Contortionist hometown of Indianapolis, it is the band’s signature brand of forward thinking heavy metal that has made them stick out as hometown favorites. The band worked hard to amass a following beyond Indiana through consistent regional shows, coastal touring, and two self-released EPs. They clearly began to define their sound and grow as musicians on their EP titled “Apparition”.

Manowar is an American classic style heavy metal band from Auburn, New York that prominently features mythology and fantasy in their lyrics as well as songs about Heavy Metal and a theme of comradery with rebellious attitude.
Manowar was founded by bassist Joey DeMaio and guitarist Ross “Ross The Boss” Friedman in 1980. Joey DeMaio was a bass/pyro technician for Black Sabbath, who were playing a show in England at the time, and Ross the Boss was the guitarist of a band called Shakin’ Street. The whole thing started when the two locked themselves in a locker room to find out which one could play the guitar harder and faster.

Upon A Burning Body was started by accident “A Side project gone wrong.”
These San Antonio, Texas natives mix brutal breakdowns with catchy two steps and heavy blast beats. After changing many members over time, they finally found a concrete line up. They have managed to dominate the Texas metal scene, and earned themselves a signing to the Sumerian Records family. They are known for their intensely brutal and fast sections combined with breakdowns and gang chants to match and top the best in the game. They have also become known for powerful and violent live shows.

Cattle Decapitation are an American deathgrind band from San Diego, California.
Originally founded in 1996, Cattle Decapitation’s songs protest the mistreatment and consumption of animals as well as the abuse of the environment. Lyrics may also focus on subjects such as misanthropy and genocide of the human race. Much of their music is based on putting humans in the situations that animals are subjected to (animal testing, slaughter, etc). Notably, all current members of the group are vegetarians.

Six Feet Under's Discography
A side project band started by Chris Barnes and Allen West of Obituary. Originally, the band was intended to just remain a side project, but after Chris was ejected from his original band Cannibal Corpse, Six Feet Under became his priority, subsequently moving the band from a side project to the long running act they are today.
Guest appearances through various Six Feet Under albums include Ice-T on True Carnage''s "One Bullet Left" and Karyn Crisis of Crisis fame on the True Carnage song "Sick and Twisted." Many consider this the first death metal duet between a male and female.

In Early 2007 A group of high school friends (Alex Hofmann, Scott Carstairs, Tommy Logan, Dan Wissinger and Suliman Arghandiwal) from the east bay first started jamming and writing music. The initial product being both misguided and adolescent, the band played its first show on June 15th 2007 In walnut creek. The First 4 song Demo (which is and forever will be out of print) was released in late June 2007. The songs “tyrant”, “verdict”, Schleicher” and “Infidel” were the first tracks to define the bands sound, which at the time was hardcore, grind and death metal in the vein of The Acacia Strain, Converge and Despised Icon.

Jeff Loomis was the lead guitarist for the ground breaking metal band Nevermore. A player of many influences and styles, Loomis is often seen as one of the world’s most talented and gifted metal guitarists. In 2008, he released a solo album entitled ‘Zero Order Phase’ (Century Media), featuring special guest appearances by fellow guitarists Ron Jarzombek and Pat O’Brien, legendary jazz bassist Michael Manring, and OFZ producer Neil Kernon.

Soulfly is a metal band formed in 1997 in Phoenix, Arizona. Led by founder, frontman, songwriter and only constant member Brazilian Max Cavalera, who formed the band after he left influential Brazilian death/thrash band Sepultura in 1996. The band has released seven studio albums, one tour EP, several singles, and two DVD videos. Soulfly incorporates diverse heavy metal styles with Brazilian tribal and world music. The band has had all six of their studio albums debut on the United States Billboard 200, with a peak position at number 32 with their second album Primitive and their debut album, Soulfly, has been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. All of the band’s output has been released by Roadrunner Records.

Lyriel is a folk metal band formed in Gummersbach in 2003. They describe their style as ‘dark romantic Celtic rock’ and can be easily compared to Blackmore’s Night and various symphonic metal bands, although they do not copy these bands; they place more emphasis on medieval sounds. They are also notable for frontwoman Jessica Thierjung’s vocals, which add a unique touch to their already distinguishable sound.
