The Obsessed were one of the early Black Sabbath-influenced doom metal bands on the American continent. They formed in 1976 under the name {\link Warhorse} but around 1977 they became known as The Obsessed. The band had gone on hiatus before releasing several albums and breaking up for good in 1995.
Recorded a 10-track album for Metal Blade Records in 1985 but it remains unreleased.
The Obsessed was also part of the 1985 compilatioin "Metal Massacre VI."
